background: ZC3H14 belongs to a family of poly(A)-binding proteins that influence gene expression by regulating mRNA stability, nuclear export, and translation (Kelly et al., 2007 [PubMed 17630287]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2010] Function: Binds the polyadenosine RNA oligonucleotides. Subunit: Interacts with HOOK2. Subcellular Location: Cytoplasm and Nucleus speckle. Post-translational modifications: Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR. Similarity: Belongs to the ZC3H14 family. Contains 5 C3H1-type zinc fingers.
