background: Zinc finger proteins (ZNFs), such as ZNF101, bind nucleic acids and perform many key functions, the most important of which is regulating transcription (summary by Bellefroid et al., 1993 [PubMed 8467795]). See ZNF91 (MIM 603971) for general information on ZNFs.[supplied by OMIM, Nov 2010] Function: May be involved in transcriptional regulation. Subcellular Location: Nucleus. Tissue Specificity: Expressed in a variety of adult and fetal tissues. Similarity: Belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. Contains 10 C2H2-type zinc fingers. Contains 1 KRAB domain.
