background: Proliferation-associated nucleolar antigen is expressed in mid G1 phase with peak level during the S phase and a rapid degradation during late mitosis. Its expression in breast carcinoma is correlated with patient prognosis. Function: May play a role in the regulation of the cell cycle andthe increased nucleolar activity that is associated with the cellproliferation. May act as ribosomal RNA methyltransferase. Subunit: Interaction with MCRS1. Subcellular Location: Nuclear Similarity: Belongs to the methyltransferase superfamily. RsmB/NOPfamily.
