background: ZNHIT1, Zinc finger HIT domain containing protein 1, appears to play a role in p53-mediated apoptosis induction. Function: Seems to play a role in p53-mediated apoptosis induction. Subunit: Interacts with MAPK11 and MAPK14. Component of the chromatin-remodeling SRCAP complex composed of at least SRCAP, DMAP1, RUVBL1, RUVBL2, ACTL6A, YEATS4, ACTR6 and ZNHIT1. Post-translational modifications: Phosphorylated on Thr by MAPK11 or MAPK14. Stres-induced ZNHIT1 is mainly regulated at the level of protein. Similarity: Belongs to the ZNHIT1 family. Contains 1 HIT-type zinc finger.
