[FUNCTION] Has a omega-amidase activity. The role of omega-amidase is to remove potentially toxic intermediates by converting alpha-ketoglutaramate and alpha-ketosuccinamate to biologically useful alpha-ketoglutarate and oxaloacetate, respectively. Overexpression decreases the colony-forming capacity of cultured cells by arresting cells in the G2 phase of the cell cycle. [SUBUNIT] Homodimer. [SUBCELLULAR LOCATION] Cytoplasm. [TISSUE SPECIFICITY] Detected in fetal brain (at protein level). Ubiquitous. Detected in heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, pancreas, prostate, spleen, thymus, prostate, testis, ovary, small intestine and colon. [SIMILARITY] Belongs to the UPF0012 family. Function: Has a omega-amidase activity. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (rat liver tissue); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with (NIT2) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-2012R) at 1:400 overnight at 4°C, followed by a conjugated secondary (sp-0023) for 20 minutes and DAB staining.
Tissue/cell: Mouse embryos; 4% Paraformaldehyde-fixed and paraffin-embedded;
