產(chǎn)品介紹 The protein encoded by this gene is a surface antigen that is preferentially expressed on monocytes/macrophages. It cooperates with other proteins to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide, and to viruses. This gene has been identified as a target candidate in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2-infected patients to potentially lessen or inhibit a severe inflammatory response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2020]

Function:
Cooperates with MD-2 and TLR4 to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Acts via MyD88, TIRAP and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Up-regulates cell surface molecules, including adhesion molecules.

Belongs to the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor, a multi-protein complex containing at least CD14, MD-2 and TLR4.

CD14又稱內毒素受體,屬細胞表面糖蛋白家族成員之一。在機體免疫、防御系統(tǒng)引起的一系列反應中介導細胞識別LPS并引起細胞酪氨酸磷酸化、核因子NF-κB轉位、觸發(fā)細胞因子釋放和氧自由基產(chǎn)生。CD14在細胞因子產(chǎn)生的調控方面起重要作用,因而對于CD14結構、功能及其臨床意義的研究日益受到重視。
